was playing some facebook game for some period of time. and i kind of found of real life sociological insights while playing. middle class values and aspirations that are inculcated by the dominant values and "gah-ment" kinda drove people into a frenzy of working, working and working for yet more and more never ending desires. at the same time, the competition to satisfy your insatiable desires end up making one forget about the very true self and dreams of the past.
give an example to illustrate. one may dream to be a musician when she was young. as we go through education and guidance by parents, we realise that the career of a musician may not be a practical option for survival in modern times. and so, for practical sake, some people choose to go into engineering or science in order to anchor a job that can point to an avenue of monetary rewards. at age 5-7, you want toys. age 12, freedom. age 18, independence and autonomy. age 19, love. age 21, a good job and branded goods. age 22, a car. age 24-25, yet more branded goods, family/car/house. age 30, bigger car, bigger house. age 35, you start wishing your kids to have an even brighter future so that you dont have to worry for them.
you wish for A, you get it but you yearn for B. by the time you earn your way to C/D/E/F, you start to wish you get Z. If you dont get it, you slog all your life for it. You get it, you want even more. In either cases, are you really happy? From deep deep down your heart? Even if you are, do you really really want it? From deep deep down your heart? What about your childhood dream that really reflects what you want?
Think about it.

went got the opening item for huayi festival on jan 31. the very first show of the first item. not because i was too cultured to participate, but more for the actor actually.
the content was really inspiring, but the plot was not so nice. just though it could be better.

the thing that i wanted to talk about, was actually the big hoo-haa about the technical error that caused an interruption at about 1/3 of the show. due to an error in the lighting programme, the scene was cut and the audiences were asked to go for a 20 mins break. for compensation, beer/wine/soft drinks were on the house. after more than 20 mins, the crew decided to re-act the scene but encounter the lighting error again at the same point. yet another break. together with the 15 mins intermission that was within the programme, there were altogether one hour of break. at the end of the show, beer/wine/soft drinks were still on the house. it was already 12 midnight then.
my main concern is: the post-talk seminar was cancelled! omg! there goes my chance of meeting my favourite actor! super angry can... and im sooooo depressed! *sob*
