i'm not trying to offend any governmental organizations here, neither am i trying to defame our most honorable justice heroes/heroines - the singapore police force.
taken from the singapore police force website, their service pledge says:
"To update victims of crime on the preliminary status of cases within 7 working days
If you happen to be a victim of crime, our aim is to update you on the preliminary status of your case within 7 working days of your initial police report. We expect to meet that standard 90% of the time. If we are unable to provide a conclusive update on the status of your case by then, our reply to you, at the very least, will include the name and contact number of your investigator and the classification of your case. This is because the case is still undergoing investigation and we need more time to give you a proper reply. We will provide further updates when there is further development."
if all my dearest friends still remember, i mentioned 2 months ago (in december 2007) that my debit card got misused and i made a police report for it. 2 months after the police report, im sad to say that i HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY NEWS OF IT AT ALL. after 2 unsuccessful calls to the officer-in-charge, i finally managed to get him on the 3rd call (which was made today). he conveniently told me that he wasnt in the office (which i believe he's telling the truth from the sounds in the background), he said he will check and get back to me today. almost 4 hours had passed, its already late at night and i have yet to receive any calls from him. i tried to reach him all the while, but to no avail again.
is that the kind of efficiency that the police force promise? it is so not the kind of thing i will expect from their service pledge.
which reminds me, the same kind of thing happened more than 2 years ago.. when i had to make my way personally to the police station because i couldnt get to the officer-in-charge at all, only to find out that my police report (stolen handphone and i managed to catch the pickpocket) had been filed into their archive for months already because the case was closed. AND I WASNT INFORMED ABOUT IT AT ALL!!!!
*i am so going to get myself into trouble for posting this entry of fact*
